Robert Simins serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Chicago Title’s New York National Commercial Services (NCS) operation. Prior to joining Chicago Title in January of 1996, he was associated with the law firm of Shearman & Sterling, specializing in commercial real estate. Rob is experienced in all types and sizes of real estate transactions, in New York, nationally and internationally. He has written and lectured widely on a broad array of real estate and title matters and is often called upon to help structure complex transactions from title and tax perspectives.

In an environment of ever larger and increasingly sophisticated real estate transactions, seasoned players know that title insurance is far from being a mere check-the-box commodity. With the right title team of advisors and professionals, it is a valuable deal tool: to get lenders the financial strength they require in relation to the size of their policies; to get owners and developers the structural flexibility they need for unique and forward-looking coverages; and to get attorneys the service they must have in a demanding marketplace where there is no choice but to get it right, and right on time.

Rob received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Harvard College in 1982 and his J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1986. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
